Dr. Ihort G. C. Achu is a retired Permanent Secretary, seasoned Administrator, and Human Resource professional with over 30 years of distinguished experience in public service and the development sector. Throughout her career, she has provided strategic leadership in governance, human capital development, gender inclusion, community engagement, and sustainable development, earning recognition for her commitment to impactful leadership and nation-building.
A renowned entrepreneur, leadership strategist, trainer, speaker, author, scholar, counselor, farmer, and climate change advocate, Dr. Achu has dedicated her career to empowering individuals, strengthening institutions, and driving sustainable social change. She is not just widely respected for her expertise in change management, leadership development, and organizational strategy, but holds Fellowships of renowned Institutions like FCIPM, FNIM, FOSHA, FCTI., and more.
As the Founder and Global President of the FLAMEG Inter-Generational Care Initiative (FIGCI), Dr. Achu leads initiatives that promote healthy ageing, intergenerational collaboration, social inclusion, and sustainable community development. Under her leadership, FIGCI continues to create meaningful opportunities that bridge generations while improving the wellbeing of vulnerable communities.
She holds a Ph.D. in International Relations, a Master’s degree in International Relations, a Master of Public Administration (MPA), a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Administration (PGDPA), a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in Languages and Linguistics, as well as numerous professional certifications.
Beyond FIGCI, Dr. Achu continues to contribute her wealth of experience through several national and international leadership roles. She serves as Vice Chairman of the Association of Retired State Permanent Secretaries of Nigeria (ARSPSON), Cross River State Chapter, Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) Council Committee on Professional Conduct and Ethics, and Vice Chairman of the Continuing Education and Enlightenment Committee of the National Senior Citizens Centre (NSCC) Consultative Forum, Cross River State. She is also the Vice State Coordinator of the Society of Women in Taxation (SWIT), Cross River State, Executive Secretary to the Board of Gender and Development Action (GADA), Nigeria, and serves on the Boards of GreenStrides Development Initiative (GDI) and the World Peace and Climate Change Diplomatic Organisation (WPCCDO). In addition, she is a Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) Council Committee on Finance and Investment, a Life Member of the Asian Business Forum, Pakistan, and an Ambassador and Advisory Council Member of Yes You Can International (YYCI), United Kingdom, reflecting her enduring commitment to ethical leadership, professional excellence, and sustainable development at both national and global levels.
